It's an older community at over 30 years old, but they maintain things very well. We know that you want your senior loved ones to enjoy living in a community that cares for them. It was beautiful, but for me, being blind, it was too spread out, it was hard to get around, and I would get lost in there.

Caring.com is a leading online destination for caregivers seeking information and support as they care for aging parents, spouses, and other loved ones. This looked very nice on the outside, it is in next to a nunnery I think. There was a beauty parlor and cafeteria area. The apartment area was nice with a little kitchnette. We thought the area was very nice and clean. The neighborhood was not all that great though.

The only negative things i could say about this place is its appearance on the inside. Some things are a bit aged, and the apartments, while having everything you need could use a bit of remodeling or at least some tender love and care as they say. All in all, the residence is accommodating and gives off a laid back relaxed atmosphere. If they upgraded a few of their amenities, and revamped some of the apartments... The place would be on a higher level in my opinion.

They have places where you can sit down and rest. Behind the building that I would be in was an area where the residents do some gardening if they wished. They have a guard at the gate that tells you where to go. This facility is great in planning and providing its residence with many activities, such as movie nights, bingo, bbq's and holiday events. Meals are available for breakfast lunch and dinner, with a nice menu for each meal. From what i hear the food tastes good, and the servers are nice and mostly well mannered with the elderly.

Being a Catholic community, they have a large chapel and a lot of religious services. I'm not Catholic, but that doesn't really matter. They have an outdoor space for people who are interested in gardening and indoor activities. It appeared to be a very nice facility, well-run, and I was able to get a lot of information, or to make a decision on where my mother wanted to go.

There's a spirit in this place that cannot be found anywhere else. Independent or Assisted Living, every resident is treated with respect and given much love. The needs of all residents is the sole purpose of the entire staff.

First, it is close to my home so I can visit my brother any time. Also, my brother likes the place. He is very pleased with the place, so as long as he is happy, we are happy.

Apartments look great.hope to sell my house early next year.. Assisted Living can be an expensive senior care option, so cost is typically going to be a consideration when looking at alternatives. The average starting cost of this facility is lower than the average cost in the area.

We don't have any complaints with the services. They were able to provide anything that we asked for. For all of the holidays, they always have some little activities to make it very festive for the people who live there. Offering the highest level of care for seniors who need day-to-day medical care and help with activities of daily living. But the surroundings were not dated. I really liked Dominican Village during my visit, but unfortunately my mom did not want to go there as of yet. The staff seemed caring, and the residents looked like they were happy. A place for seniors who need little or no assistance with activities of daily living. Our fully-trained staff is always friendly and available to help seniors feel right at home. My tour at Dominican Village was lovely. The staff who gave me the tour was very helpful. They have a whole list of activities, they have swimming because they have a pool, and they have bingo.

You can focus on simply enjoying time spent with our loved ones, knowing that they are cared for. Founded in 1975, St. Dominic Village is a faith-based, non-profit, continuing care retirement community dedicated to Caring for Our Elders with the Compassion of Christ. St. Dominic Village is a member of the Texas Medical Center and a ministry of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Angel House provides housing for individuals and their families who are in need of an affordable, safe environment while receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center. We serve approximately 300 long-term and 300 short-term residents, and 3,000 Angel House guests, each year. At St. Dominic Village, we offer Rehabilitation and Nursing Care for those who are unable to live independently.

It's an established senior community. It used to be a college and they converted it to what it is now. It has a large campus and it's secure.

The rooms were nice, but they do not have full kitchens or as many activities as other places I've seen. The dining area was nice, clean, and restaurant-looking, and the menu looks fine. It's wonderful and everything you could expect. They provide activities and three meals a day, and I have independence to do what I want. The food is great, and it's made by Luby's cafeteria.

They also host a lot of different cultural activities. They provide three meals and nutritious snacks throughout the day. I didn't taste the food, but it looked well-prepared. The snacks are generally something like fruit salad.

The two staff members that I met were great. They do transportation within 5 to 7 miles for medical on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. They also occasionally take you to Walmart or a grocery store.

We have an experienced administration and staff that work continually to care for our residents. We were given a tour of St. Dominic Village. The facility was clean and had a family atmosphere to it. It's like an apartment, and the price was reasonable. The staff was very knowledgeable about the caring industry and aware of the importance of family involvement. The assistant director who took us for the tour explained to us about the role of the staff for the patients' care.

The building is clean and well maintained on the inside and outside. It’s a great place to have someone you care about live when they need help. Overall a very caring atmosphere.

Independent Living

They have life alerts for all of the residents in the assisted living facility. So if anything happens, they have someone on 24 hours duty. The staff who assisted me during the tour was excellent.

They do a live music with a band outside in the courtyard. I also went to their coffee shop. Dominican Village was referred to us for my mother-in-law.
